Lavender Farm Engagement Session | Matt & Hannah

Oh these two... they just made my heart swell with giddiness when we met up for their engagement session. You would think after photographing more than 100 couples, I'd be over it by now. But when a bride and groom book me for their wedding and we have the opportunity to connect at their engagement session ahead of time, there's nothing that gets me more excited about their wedding day than watching them snuggle up and enjoy each other in front of my camera! And okay... pair it with beautiful sunset light and I literally squeal. I make fun of myself for it, too, so that may explain some of the genuine laughs these guys gave me. :)

Enjoy Matt and Hannah's engagement session shot at the Evergreen Lavender Farm in Appomattox, VA. It was my first time photographing a session at the lavender farm nearby and I LOVED it! Thank you, Peggy and Thane for being so hospitable to us while we were on your property!

How to Get the Most Out of Your Wedding Photography Investment, Part 1

The other day I was sitting in my studio chatting with a super sweet prospective bride and she was telling me about her journey to finding the perfect wedding photographer. She had a unique tool available to her that a lot of brides do not: a family member who is an experienced professional photographer. Instead of hiring this relative to photographer her own wedding, she asked him to help her find the best photographer for her day so he could be present and enjoy the wedding.

As the story goes... she sent a list of photographers to this cousin and he responded back fairly bluntly that he wouldn't recommend ANY of the photographers on her short list. She was shocked and confused! But he explained...

A Liberty University Wedding | Zach & Lindsay

A Liberty University Wedding | Zach & Lindsay

Have you ever been completely surrounded by GOOD people? I mean... standing in a room of 200+ people all of whom have the most genuine and joy-filled hearts you've ever met? I have. It was at Zach and Lindsay's wedding. I even looked at my second-shooter that day, Maria, and I said "Every single person here is so GOOD. They are all oozing-joy... shining their genuinely happy hearts all around this room!" She confirmed the feeling I had.

If that doesn't say something about the kind of people Zach and Lindsay are, I don't know what would.

I love Richard & Claire's story. It's one of those that starts... pauses... and starts again. And that again part? It lasts forever.
