2016 Fall Picture Opportunities in Lynchburg, Virginia

Oh my goodness! SO many things have happened since we put our house on the market this summer! We MOVED... to a lovely house in the woods... to the serene, quiet space... in the land of... NO INTERNET.

Yeah, it sounds all romantic until you try and run a business from a place where you have no internet access! It's been challenging, to say the least!

But my days are full and I've had so many incredible, patient, and understanding clients! I have photographed many beautiful events: births, weddings, even a secret elopement! I have captured the personalities of the cutest little bebes as they grow and explore their world. I've played in new fields and explored the light with my camera on this new side of town.

In between shooting and editing, I'd found time to actually cook dinner for my family (maybe it's the lack of internet/distractions that has allowed me to suddenly have the time to cook! ha!), enjoy walks in the woods with my girls, paint, decorate, and put our things away in many of the rooms in our new home... and have lots of play time in the new studio!

But... it's been long enough. This blog has been far too quiet. There are a lot of things happening here in the studio in the next few months and I want to make sure you have all the details!

So, here's what is coming up:

OH my goodness - I am SO excited about the new Santa Experience I am offering this year!!!

Imagine no line... quiet, personal time with Santa... and professional, high-quality pictures you KNOW you will love! Experience the wonder of Christmas through your child's eyes as I capture their first glimpse of Santa and keep snapping away as they sit on his lap and enjoy sharing their Christmas wishes with him.

This is the First Annual Santa Experience and THE best Santa experience in town! There are limited seats, so be sure to grab your spot ASAP!

I will be back soon to show off some of the beautiful faces and love stories I've had the honor of photographing recently. For now, here's a little preview!!

Lynchburg Studio Photographer First Newborn Session In The Studio

Lynchburg Studio Photographer First Newborn Session In The Studio

As my birth photography business began really growing, I started receiving more and more requests for maternity, newborn, and baby portraits. I wanted to figure out a way I could streamline and systemize these types of sessions. I started looking at studio spaces outside of my home and let my imagination really run wild!

Fast forward a few months without many decisions made; Stephanie contacted me about shooting her newborn session. However, she mentioned that they were in the process of moving and they didn't have a space available to shoot in. I had to brainstorm - quick! I decided to give my own space a try, grabbing a few extra tools at the very last minute to help manipulate the light as best as I could.

Our Home is for Sale!

house-for-sale-ho.png

Ten years.
A marriage (still going strong!)
One home birth
Two babies
Three (and a half) dogs
Numerous playdates, birthday parties, and dinner dates with friends
And about five years of contemplating moving... should we... or shouldn't we?

It's truly been the perfect home for a growing family. Three spacious bedrooms, three full baths, a huge great room downstairs and a fenced in back yard! The entire home has been painted (some rooms in recent months, some in recent years) within the last two years. The kitchen and laundry room have both been updated recently with open shelving to compliment the abundance of natural light in the home. The appliances all convey, as well as the swing set out back!

We are so sad to leave our first home... but we know it is time for us to move on.

Here are some photos of our house for sale... we are mostly fond of the 2-car garage that wasn't necessarily photo-ready at this point. But try to imagine... it's oversized and currently fits stacks of boxes, normal garage storage stuff AND our two vehicles! Oh, and ignore the tiniest details my mom-brain forgot to clear before the photos were taken. (Like the pile of dust I forgot to sweep up after sweeping the entire house... can you spot it? It's a bit camouflaged! Hah! Oh but hey! Another positive... these floors hide everything!)

If you know of anyone in the market for a home in the city of Lynchburg, please share this MLS listing with them! We are motivated sellers!!

Luke & Rebecca | A Glencliff Manor Engagement Session

Lucas and Rebecca met at Liberty University and their love story is simply beautiful. They have incredible chemistry and were so much fun to photograph. I had the honor of photographing their wedding this past weekend, which I absolutely cannot wait to share with you. But first! Their engagement session on the grounds of Glencliff Manor! It's not very often I encourage a late-winter session. For one, the trees are just.... drab. And two, it's super chilly!!! But these two kept things warm with their flirting and dazed-in-love eyes. The epitome of newlyweds (to be)!

I love the way these came out and I credit Rebecca for the extra details you see - her adorable felt hat, the cozy plaid blanket, and the touches of her wedding colors! The tiniest accessories can do SO much to a final shot which makes all the planning ahead SO worth it! Also, a HUGE thanks to the staff at Glencliff Manor for letting us romp around on the grounds for this session!!

Sooooo sweet, right?! Love these guys! I can't wait to share their entire wedding with you!!

David & Britney | A Lynchburg Engagement Session

My baby brother is ENGAGED!!! Ahhh! I have to admit, I wasn’t sure I’d ever be making this announcement! But... man... I am so excited! We ADORE his fiancé, Britney.... she compliments him in all the right ways! And she has shown such love and dedication to him while he was finding his way these past few years. It’s amazing to see him in such a good place after all he has been through in life!

They came down to Lynchburg this past weekend to help celebrate my birthday and we squeezed in a quick engagement session while they were here. It was a sunrise session and the only other person who is (ALWAYS) awake in our house at that time is Sunday - and she wanted to come along!! It was so much fun having her there with me, although she definitely tried to take the lead a few times.

“I gotta a good idea! One of you looks at mama, and then the other looks at me!”

I was cracking up. Monkey see, monkey do, I guess! :) Poor thing gave up after a little while when we all had to ignore her in order to really get the job done... but it was so much fun to have her along with us!

Congratulations David and Britney!!! We are SO EXCITED for you guys and cannot wait to see where God leads you in the upcoming years!! Your wedding day can’t come soon enough!
